Glad that this forum is out there! I am currently a practicing solitary (cue Celine Dion's "All By Myself".....) in Cincy, interested esp. in a Celtic/Druid path. So I'm very excited about this (esp. a meetup possibility! Oooooh- people!).

No, they are a nationwide group, but their headquarters is in Michigan. Once I receive my ordainment, I want to get sponsorship to build my temple here in the area. We should meet up nonetheless really soon, Id like to talk with you!

Sounds great! Just let us all know when and where to meet. I'd definitely be interested. I would love to see a group headed by an ordained (or almost-ordained) Druid here!! I was in Sisterhood of Avalon for a while but wanted a coed group that was based on a larger Celtic tradition. The SOA was based on the idea of what Avalon may have been, restricted only to women and based on only Welsh dieties. It's a struggle
to find an organization with the knowledge to guide seekers on the real thing, as you said, more nature-based but with personified energies/dieties based on a certain culture . It's always nice to meet a fellow pagan-especially because I'd love to pick your brain- I'd like to know what books you recommend (and don't recommend) and anything else that comes to mind, as it sounds like you have been on this path for a while.

My fiance Leah works at Starbucks at the Jungle Jim's plaza in Fairfield. If you know where that is, we could meet there sometime soon when shes working and can get some *whispers*(free coffee) lol.


Im off tomorrow and both Leah and I are free on Friday, we could meet up one of those days?

Ironically I'm always in that starbucks. I don't enjoy coffee, I'm more of a tea person. Starbucks apple cider is fantastic though. Jungle jim's in general is just great.

technically not THAT off topic: They do have wonderful hot chocolate too....=) Good to hear about the apple cider-which is perfect for ritual, by the way, if you are looking for a non-alcoholic offering/drink that isn't water....esp. this time of year=)

I'm more of a listener.
I'm working on becoming more of a leader rather than a follower.
I'm trying to sort out my beliefs on religion, but I have some very strong beliefs that will never leave me. I need to study a lot more, but I'm currently adapting to this new piano and building a network in my home.

Laurent, no need to worry. I'm sure you have plenty to bring- you would be surprised. Although it's good to have an open mind, I'm sure that you will see that in this spiritual path, a few deeply held opinions (within reason) can be of great assistance- especially when you are trying to sort out a lot of new information, traditions and people. Trust your intuition and trust your dieties!! (There are so many silly books and fake shamans out there, it boggles the mind. Of course, there is really good stuff out there too- you just need to wade through it all.)

My favorite would be harbin park, in fairfield. There is a big trail that leads back to a secluded area with a picnic table and grill, really nice. =)
